Get rid of them․ employees who ruin your business

The main wealth of a business are people, not space, furniture or technology. The rise and fall of the business depends on them. Employee selection is the most responsible and important step in business.

People are different depending on the family they grew up in, their environment, their experiences and their perceptions. There are people who seem to be a walking inspiration – it is easy for them to deal with, they recharge with positive energy and make you believe in your own strengths. There are also people of the opposite polarity, always dissatisfied, always negative and hostile. Of course, you can never say what happened to them in their lives, but on the other hand, working relationships should not be affected by someone’s bad mood or childhood trauma.

We meet a lot of businesses, employees, and can tell who can endanger or even ruin your business.

1 ․ “I Did What You Said” / Doer

It is good when an employee does his job. It is bad when he does it badly. These types of employees come straight into their hours and go home, when the work time is ended. They perform all the tasks exclusively, but never produce the results that were required. They always say they have done all the work, and they have done, but there has been no quality and no results. If you have not instructed him to inspect and control the work he has done, then be prepared to end up in the abyss. These people understand everything literally, without digging deeper into the content. They do not understand that if you are assigned to write a letter to a colleague, you must write a competent, reasoned, and relevant letter. They say they will try to do something, and they actually try, without paying any attention to quality.

These types of employees may try to retrain, detail each assignment and leave no room for misunderstanding, as they will use it.You expect a certain level of expertise and independence. 24-hour supervision will cost you a lot, replacing them with more willing and responsible people is the best option.

2 ․ “Let’s do it” / Initiative and lazy employee

An employee stands out for his energy, quickly inspired by new ideas, has a thousand interests and a hobby, but never does anything to the end. He is so engrossed in new ideas that he forgets about his main responsibilities. If you talk about it, he will tell you about a lot of new projects, but it’s hard to say which ones he has completed. Such employees often change jobs. Being inspired and embarking on something new is a good thing, but endless unfinished work can anger any employer.. In addition, leaving work incomplete means that it is up to someone else to finish it, and it creates an unhealthy workplace environment.

3 ․ “Everyone is bad and offends me” / Drama queen

Dramatic theater has lost a great actor. And you’ve got an employee who likes to do staging every workday. Often this role is played by the most responsible and good employees, who aren’t lucky enough to overcome all the tasks alone; they should take on the responsibilities of other employees. They did it because they realized that there was no help. Their internal responsibility prevented them from fulfilling their assignment. Hypertension and tiredness have made him cruel, sometimes inattentive, nervous, and flashy. He begins to search for hidden meaning in ordinary words, perceiving remarks as a personal insult. He makes you constantly think about whether or not something will offend him.

Such a situation can happen to everyone, but it must be understood that the workplace cannot be a theater. If your employee has such tendencies, you have two ways out. Or more precisely, two stages of action. First, you need to talk, discuss, and understand what causes such behavior. It is very likely that after a conversation with the employee you will find a solution – a mutual agreement that will satisfy both parties. And if that doesn’t help, you’ll have to bid farewell to the big stage actor.

4 ․ “Yes, Boss” / Squeezable employee

Agreeing to everything, not saying an opposite word: as a boss you will love him for being loyal and positive. And to be completely honest, it is easy to lead him, it is easy for him to “speak out” and find out what other employees think of you. He will tell everything because he does not have his own opinion. He is just a tool, and if you stop guiding him, he will lose his power.

As a rule, such employees are estranged from collective – they do not like him, he does not love others. Having a blue-eyed boy often has a negative effect on the working environment.

You don’t need such employees. You don’t have to have your own spy who will tell you everything. Do not make people your toy, and if the employee shows such qualities himself, it is better to get rid of him. Gossip and intrigue have not made any business strong.

5 ․ No fish, no meat / Unknown worker

She’s smart, sassy, no one bothered him. The problem is that he does not create benefits. He is included in various projects, but there is nothing you can say he has done on his own. This employee is both present and absent. The bad thing is that no one understands what he is like. People do not know how to work with him or what to order because he has never shown his abilities. Don’t let incomprehensible employees be in your team, everyone should be involved and excited about their work.

As we have said, people are very different. It is important to be surrounded and to include people who create positive energy, because only the positiveness allows us to move forward and develop. Be attentive to your employees, take care of them, and motivate them. Your success and the success of your business depend directly on it.
